Anyone who knows me or even pays the slightest attention to my streams will know my love for Foursquare and other Geotagging applications. One of my favorite things about such info toys are the virtual reward graphics that get doled out for participating.
They take many forms depending on the marketing of each platform. Be it Badges, Stickers, Pins, Mayorships or Dukeships the companies that really excite me are the ones that offer the awardees real world benefits.
Foursquare was the first to get me hooked with this leveraging of activity participation by putting the reward tools in the hands of business owners and creating Badge Parnterships with large companies.
Taking their lead on the hugely popular Badge/Check game, Get Glue has centralized the rewards system while throwing their sights on Music, Film, Written Word, Locations & Topics.
You earn stickers for checking, reviewing or giving the 'Like' thumbs up to things. These stickers once you've collected more then seven you can trade them in for physical versions mailed free to you.
Rumor has it that they will be partnering with book publishers to allow users to trade them for free books & media items.
